
Jeff Curtis is an 32 year law enforcement veteran with a background specialized in training. He is the founder and president of Total Control Training Institute, Inc. a researched based use of force training organization. TCTI supplies officers and departments Nationally and Internationally with Use of Force training programs. The State of Mississippi has approved the TCTI, Inc. Semi-Auto Firearms Instructor program, TCTI OC Instructor, TCTI Defensive Tactics, TCIT Ground Defense, TCTI Knife Defense program and the TCTI Rifle and Shotgun Instructor programs as a State Certified Instructor Program. The State of Mississippi has approved the TCTI Personal Protection Program developed by Mr. Curtis as approved courses for both teachers and medical field employees. Most State academies now use the TCTI OC Survival Training program. TCTI offers over 50 programs for officers, security, military, teacher, medical field and departments in the use of force, protection and survival field.
Jeff has been an active consultant for the US Department of Army, US Air Force, United Kingdom Royal Protection Service and various military special operation units. As the Basic Class Coordinator/Instructor for the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy in Pearl, MS, he oversaw classes of recruits to become officers for the state of Mississippi. His classes ranged from 55 to 75 graduating officers. As Special Projects Coordinator for the State of Mississippi, Mr. Curtis researched, designed and coordinated several seminars.
Mr. Curtis holds different state Law Enforcement instructor certificates including Mississippi, Arkansas, Florida, IL and Nebraska . He was active over 18 years with PPCT Management Systems, Inc. The leading research based use of force organization in the Country. He held the rank of Associate Staff Instructor with PPCT. He was appointed in 2008 as the Chair of the Warriors Science Group Firearms Committee. He has assisted PPCT staff with development of the PPCT Combat Firearms Instructor Manual. Assisted staff in the instruction of the Combat Firearms Instructor course at the PPCT International conferences. His professional affiliations included the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFA), American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers (ASLET), National Rifle Association (NRA), and National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA).
Mr. Curtis began his career in 1985 and has served as police officer and administrator for the Tupelo Police Department, Starkville Police Department and the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy. s In addition to working with Departments in Mississippi, he served as Director of Security for a very large US-based international communications corporation where he also acted as head of the Executive Protection Division for the CEO. He has taught in 22 states and three Countries in the use of force field.
